EXPERIENCE
Prior to embarking on her own surgical practice, Dr. Mosher served as the Director of Mohs Surgery at Krauss Dermatology for 7 years, and at Atrius Health for 7 years. She and her team of 15 years have built a highly successful Mohs surgical practice and have treated over twenty thousand skin cancers during their tenure together. They couldn’t be more excited to continue to deliver care in their brand new practice, Mosher Center for Skin Cancer Care!

Dr. Mosher and the team at Mosher Center for Skin Cancer Care understand that surgery for skin cancer–especially on your face, can be a frightening experience. She is an expert surgeon with a meticulous eye for unparalleled aesthetic outcomes. Many of her surgeons seek her out because they feel her repairs are better than any other Mohs surgeon or plastic surgeon they have had.

Dr. Mosher’s reassuring manner, and her teams’ calming influence, can relax even the most anxious of patients. Many patients report that their surgery was easy and comfortable, and many have commented that the expert team made the day enjoyable and that they actually “had fun!”

In addition to her clinical appointments, Dr. Mosher is part of the consulting staff at Newton Wellesley Hospital. She lectures and teaches on Mohs surgical techniques on a local and national level.

HOBBIES
Dr. Mosher enjoys running, skiing, and traveling with her family. She has two adorable labradoodles. She was raised in Massachusetts but brings a Nova Scotian hospitality and work ethic to all that she does. Both her parents were raised there and she travels there each summer with her family. She loves hearing her patients' stories and finds that one of the most rewarding parts of her career! She looks forward to meeting you soon.

Tina Suatengco
Histology Technician

I’m a surgical histotechnologist and a surgical assistant. I’ve been working in Mohs for nearly 20 years, and 15 of these with Dr. Mosher. I take the cancerous tissue that Dr. Mosher removes, and process it in the laboratory. I freeze it carefully and take thin sections on our cryostat. Then the tissue moves through a variety of stains that help highlight tumor cells. Dr. Mosher is able to read the slides and decide where more tumor, if any, needs to be removed. My job is very technical and requires a great deal of patience! While I really enjoy this part of my job, I am even more passionate about working directly with patients. Unlike many histotechnologists, I also serve as a surgical scrub technician, which means I assist Dr. Mosher with the plastic surgery repairs after the skin cancers have been removed.  I like to make patients feel at ease, comfortable and relaxed during their Mohs procedure. I have a caring bedside manner and device expertise. I scrub into the plastic surgical repairs with Dr. Mosher. In addition, whenever Dr. Mosher wants a terrific bandage for the patients, she calls for me!

When I’m not at work I love to travel, spend quality time with my family, my dog Cruiser and my partner Tim.

Sharon Sasso, RN
Registered Nurse

I grew up in Massachusetts, where I enjoyed playing lacrosse. A passion for hard work and medicine run in my family -- my sister and I are both nurses. I have had a longstanding interest in the medical profession, and started out with my associates in nursing at 19. I started as a surgical technician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center before transitioning into my RN role during that time I spent four years as an Emergency Room nurse, before realizing my passion was in Mohs I then returned to the Mohs unit. I have 25 years of clinical Mohs experience.

I have worked with Dr Mosher for the past 14 years. Our team provides unparalleled care to our surgical patients with special attention to cosmetic reconstruction. What sets us apart is not only that we function as such a cohesive unit given that we have all worked together for 14-25 years, but because we all share a patient for outstanding clinical care. Having surgery can be frightening, but we can actually make it an enjoyable experience for patients.

We meet our patients where they need to be met--whether chatting them through the case, listening to music together, or hearing stories about their families, we always come out at the end having learned something new about them, and often just about life. There is no greater gift in medicine these days than having time to spend with our patients--while awake--and Mohs provides that unique opportunity.

When not at work I enjoying spending time with my husband and two children mostly in hockey rinks. I also enjoy exercising and being outdoors with my dog.

Gap Year Program

Since 2017, we have been training collegiate graduates as surgical assistants in our Mohs practice. These students spend one to two years working in the Mohs environment, learning everything about pre-surgical, surgical and post surgical care. They learn how to educate patients about Mohs, complete medical histories, bandage patients, remove sutures, provide wound care instructions and even begin to make their own clinical assessments. They learn A-to-Z essentials about taking medical histories and a broad array of clinical topics not limited to dermatology and dermatologic surgery.

Given Dr. Mosher’s history as an internist prior to becoming a Mohs surgeon, along with her penchant and passion for teaching, Enter years of academic experience, teaching fellows residence and medical students, our previous gap year students uniformly report that they are light years ahead when they reach their medical school clinical rotations. Nearly 2/3 of our graduates have gone onto surgical careers and state that it was their time with us that was most influential in  that decision.

This training program is rigorous and only fully-committed premedical students with a surgical orientation, who have already completed or about to complete their MCATs, should apply. Applications open in December for work beginning the following June. Applications are available under Handshake. Students may also reach out directly via email here.

Interested students should send an email inquiry along with a CV, transcript and two letters of recommendation.
